TheMetagrobologist is a lifestyle magazine that celebrates puzzle innovation and creativity and showcases designers, craftsmen and collectors from around the world. It explores, admires and enjoys their work, through a stream of talented contributors and loving readers.
We have been consistently blown away by the amount of enthusiasm for TheMetagrobologist Magazine and those that have provided lots of encouraging and helpful information and advice as well as experiences and expertise to help bring it to your computer screen and soon your table. When we first came up with the idea, we thought it would be difficult to figure out how we could convince anyone to download a copy. But the magazine has now developed into something we feel is special and something we are proud of. There is now a lot of great excitement about it.
For quite some time we have been asked if it could be produced in a printed publication. We agree that as a puzzle collector ourselves, the value of holding TheMetagrobologist Magazine in your hands far exceeds the extra expense it takes to produce it. Now we have a printed edition in our hands and we realise why so many people have been asking for it.
A printed edition, with 170g silk paper and a 300g silk cover, feels something far more special than something that can be quickly skimmed through on your iPad and iPhone. It’s an experience that needs digesting and experiencing through and through.
We want your to counter the ephemeral nature of the web with a tangible printed edition that you can keep on their bookshelf and return to for years.
We have spent many hours interviewing, editing, and writing to prepare Issue One, Two and Three. It has been an incredible honour and privilege spending time with the best of the best-discussing puzzles, puzzle events, woodworking, metalworking, 3D-printing and collecting beyond what we could have hoped for.
To all the enthusiastic puzzlers that have expressed interest in promoting TheMetagrobologist Magazine to your readers/followers/friends, you will soon finally have the medium in which to do that best. If you were willing to share news of the printed edition with your contacts, we would be immensely grateful.
如你所知,这个谜团社区是一个利基的世界, honest word of mouth is the most powerful way to support an emerging venture like this one. So far the response already has been overwhelming and exciting. We look forward to putting Issue Four in your hands. Spread the word: Pre-orders will soon be open! Thank you!
We have decided upon a cover price of €25.00 and all pre-orders will have free shipping. TheMetagrobologist Magazine is a perfect-bound independent publication printed on silk stock (300gsm cover with a 140gsm interior). Issue #4 contains 136 pages. I’d say that’s pretty good. As stated above, to make everyone’s lives easier, we’ve set a flat rate for shipping that will take TheMetagrobologist absolutely anywhere in the world.
TheMetagrobologist Magazine Submissions
We’re always on the look-out for new contributors and would love to hear from you about your ideas. Whether you’re a writer, photographer, designer, craftsmen, collector or illustrator. We would love to hear from you if you have unsolicited submissions, lots of enthusiasm and wish to contribute to the magazine. Below are our guidelines and submission process. We look forward to seeing your creativity!
We are now accepting submissions for print Volume 05: June 2016. What we are looking for:
Features on crafting a 3D, Wood or Metal puzzle.
Artist, Designer interviews, and spotlights.
Home/Designer/Craftsmen tours focused on collections.
Articles exploring the subject of puzzle design, craftsmanship, and recreational mathematics.
If you have a completed piece you think would be a great fit, please email a draft and/or photos to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Magazine Sponsor Directory
If you are a business or individual designer or craftsman with whom we have immense respect and admiration, and would like to sponsor TheMetagrobologist Magazine the sponsorship support price is now set at $150.00.
This support will enable us to provide the most affordable magazine that isn’t inundated with loads of small and large advertisements.
Based own recommendations we’ve decided to take a sponsorship model. Sponsorship is a more appealing and tasteful approach to fun the release of the Magazine in an unobtrusive way and gives us a way of highlighting those that want to endorse what we are trying to accomplish.
A Directory Page will highlight our sponsors to share what they’re doing and also that they support what we’re doing. Everyone on this directory shares our vision of celebrating the amazing craftsmanship and designs of puzzle making and collecting.
Our Sponsors will be featured in two places: on our Directory Page and in a Sponsor Directory in each print issue commencing with Issue 4. The Directory Page will be available all throughout the year until the following issue is released in the next quarter. Sponsorship opportunities are open for Issue Four. If you would like to become a sponsor please email us at email@example.com.
If you are looking for recommendations of the very best puzzle designers and craftsmen, we recommend you look here first. We happily endorse and support these designers and craftsmen and hope you will too.
